    Most original/unique finish/material you've seen on a speaker/sub?

Corian is pretty amazing stuff... my friend's dad does installation training and he makes all kinds of stuff out of Corian. It can also be inlayed in (or bonded to) wood for a unique look. Darker colors show scratches easy, but it also can be polished to a mirror like finish. They (dupont) also...

PICS Finished - Tempest Sub table w/high WAF

Joe, Sorry no construction photos. I have very little wood working experience as well... lucky for me I have a good friend with an awesome shop and lots of talent, so he was able to help me lots. It would've looked like crap without his help. Having the right tools helps too...planer, router...

PICS Finished - Tempest Sub table w/high WAF

I finally got around to finishing my subwoofer. For the last year it has been an MDF cube in our living room. I think it was Darren_T that posted the photos of his sub that gave me the inspiration. (thanks Darrin!). My wife is thrilled at how nice it looks. I tried to match it (as close as I...

    My DIY Tempest

I was going to build two more boxes this weekend, another ported one and a sealed one. My current box is the Adire alignment and it sounds awesome, but the wife says it is just too big. I'm driving my Tempest with the hs200 (200wpc@4ohms), my only concern with the sealed box is lack of power...

    Looking to buy a router...

Buy a router that has a depth rod or a locking collar. This way you can adjust the depth of the plunge. Make sure you use carbide blades for cutting MDF. The tool steel blades dull very very fast. Good luck, Jeff

    HS200 for a Adire Tempest ?

I'm starting to design my new sub project and wonder if the Hypex HS200 will be sufficient to drive a 15" Adire Tempest in a large vented box (7-8ft^3). It provides 200W RMS, but I like it more than the AVA250 (250W) because of the 4th Order L-R crossover. Any comments? Suggestions? Thanks...

Mission style Tempest Enclosure PICS - Nearly done

Beautiful. That's a work of art. This is very similiar to what I had in mind for my new sub project. Has a high spouse acceptance factor because it doesn't look like a speaker. I'm considering a Tempest with the HS200 AMP. Anyone ever done two of these bad boys in an isobaric configuration...
