I'm no expert but I've done fiberglass before. Is this primarily sound insulation or for heat insulation, it sounds like you'd like a little of both. If it's just heat insulation, you can get pipe wrap that is easier to install, cheaper, and probably more effective for keeping the pipes warm...

Have you tried to go into your BIOS and check the power saving options in there for some hot-key that you may have accidentally hit? Or worst case scenario, go into the BIOS and do a master reset to reset the options back to the factory default... Jay
