    WTB - Rotel 1075 (black)

Yeah, I asked him about how it would be boxed, if he's the original owner, etc, here's his response: "The AM dont have original box.I dont know how old the AM.I bought it few years a go from some one,yes the power cord come with the AM and no manual,no scratch on it.Thanks" That's it...

    WTB - Rotel 1075 (black)

I'm actually looking for a 1075 as well. Not much luck. I noticed the eBay auction. When I ask him a question he responds with as terse an answer as possible. I don't like that. I noticed another eBay auction for the States only (I'm in Canada) was pulled, I don't know why.

FS: Paradigm Reference LCR 450 speaker

I used to have an LCR450, it's a great speaker. Sold it to upgrade to a Linn system. henning www.hdblog.net

High Level Pro's and Con's of RP and FP

Rainbows are why I'll probably never get a 1-chip DLP. Even if I get used to it, what about having guests over for a movie? I can't just tell them to get used to it. henning www.hdblog.net

"Halo" of light at top of screen on Hitachi 57" RPTV

Internal reflections like this are quite annoying. I never knew this was a problem until I bought my Hitachi 57T500 last year. There is a small light near the center of the screen even when the TV is off, but this is normal for RPTVs. Plus, when there are bright parts of an image, I get washes...

    What is "DTV-Link Compliance" ??

Firewire, AKA IEEE1394, AKA iLink. Firewire transports digital audio and video signals in their compressed form (like MPEG2), unlike DVI/HDMI which transports raw, uncompressed data. If you want to record HD from one device to another, Firewire is the way to do it. henning www.hdblog.net

Tosh 51HX84 VS Panny 53X54 VS Hit 51F510

I would say the 51S500 is a better quality set than the 51F510. The S series are a higher line with better optics etc than the F line. henning

Hitachi 51F510 or 51S500..here is the deal

From my research, if you want the best picture quality available in Canada, I would suggest you look for one of: - 51S500 - 51T500 (the same as S except for 40W sound and AVNet) - 51S700/51T700 if available in Canada and you need FireWire inputs and CableCARD (but there have been complaints...

Hitachi 51F510 or 51S500..here is the deal

Yes, the X500 is better than everything. Unfortunately, not available in Canada. I just bought the 57T500 (same as the S except for AVNet) for $3200, and am awaiting delivery.

New Linn Speakers for me, and what can i say! :D

I have Linn 5140 and 5120 speakers I bought used and am quite happy with. But I think they need to be powered better than my HK 500 receiver to really shine! henning PS I'm in Ottawa too!

    Difference between 57H83, 57HX83, 57H93, 57HX93

The new '84 models have stretch modes for HD content too, not just SD content. This comes in handy when you have 4:3 HD content.

    Difference between 57H83, 57HX83, 57H93, 57HX93

Supposedly this year's models HX series don't use the Pegasus IV tubes, for cost purposes. Quite a shame, as the tubes are quite good.

    Tosh 57HX84 vs 57HX93?

I've been researching these sets myself. The Pegasus IV tubes are supposed to be quite good. Better picture quality, and, most importantly, much longer life before they start to degrade. 540p is an alternate mode to 1080i, because they use the same scanning rates. Depending on what the...
