For sale, Dish/JVC 5500 (5000) model with HDTV modulator, both in excellent condition. The remote control was recently dropped to the floor and cracked the IR plastic window, it's purely cosmetic, but it is chipped. otherwise it works fine. Asking $410 paypal or mo. Thanks

Well.. at least he left you positive feedback. No chance of retribution on his part, which makes your decision a little less worrysome about getting negative feedback from a newbie.

I use triads as my front speakers, LCR golds and will be using their silver surrounds for my surrounds. The triads have excellent bracing and don't bleed as much sound outside it's enclosure. This helps reduce the noise bleed to the rooms above the ceiling speakers (if there are rooms above).

The viewsonic VB50hrtv might get you half way there. The VB50 takes composite, svideo input and scales/deinterlaces them up to 1024x768 on your PC monitor. Cost is around $100 or so. Viewsonic will be releasing additional scalers, one of which has component inputs. You can read about them...
