i absolutely love my qs4 on surround duty. but since you're talking about the qs8, then id have to say go for them (my uncle ordered an axiom HT which included the qs8 and i must say that the additional price over the qs4 is justified). because of their quadpole design, the qs series works well...
well i picked up the F85 at CC for $130 last week. havnt had a chance to sit through a whole movie with it yet, just a few demos. everything seems great. i especially like the mirror finish over the display panel. the tray is very quiet, too, which is a plus. i'll watch a movie on it later, but...
richard, you were one of the people that didnt like the F85's pq. im glad you like your dvd player now. what type adjustments fixed the video for you? so is the all-in-1 chip on the panny F85 is ok?
i did some searching, and saw that some people didnt like the video quality on the F85. what's bad about it exactly? and can anyone give some suggestions for decent ~$200 dvd player? i dont really care about sacd or dvd-a, im just looking for something to replace my yamaha DV-S5350. damn thing...
i have no idea about what's good now. i got a denon ahd-950 a while back. very good headphones. noticeably more/better bass than the sr60s, and more detailed too. they also are a bit more closed than the sr60s. though they are going for about $130 US last time i checked. a good site to check out...
heh you should really have this thread moved to the diy section (this thread doesnt really belong here i dont think). you'll get more help there. anyways, i have one in a 12 cu.ft sonotube. yes, it is a beast, but i love it! she goes subsonic with authority, and it was fairly easy to build...
kevitra, did you do a double blind test? if so, then could you consistently pick out which speaker had the old driver? sorry, but i am very skeptical when there hasnt been a test done, or any documented proof to back it up, especially about something like speaker breaking (or other hotly debated...
i do not believe there is such thing as "breaking in" the speakers, but just your ears. you should realize that the drivers are vibrating thousands of times a minute, and the cross-overs have electricity running through them constantly. if there is such thing as a break-in period, then it would...
brian, sorry if im a bit skeptical, but did you do an a/b comparison, or was the difference just THAT noticable? i just dont see how $70 worth of capacitors can do that :b
i have a few questions george. is the blackhole 5 any better than wal-mart polyfil batting? and what is the sonicap upgrade? im just trying to get in a little research cos i might be making the a/v1's myself, as soon as i can find a use for them. :P i've had my m22ti's for about 6 months now and...
well if you have the time/tools, then i recommend going a diy tempest route (tuned to ~16hz), because its cheaper, and much more satisfying. but if you got the money, then buy the lowest tuned svs you can get. you'll only loose a few db in headroom, but you'll never get close to them in a small...
i got the denon ahd-950. very nice headphones, though i think they're about $125 from the internet. i almost got the sr-80, but after reading about so many people with the "grattle," i got the denons instead. they have better bass response than the sr-60, and i think they are a bit more...
my 340L ebs tempest had no problem with any scene from lotr, aotc, or the THX scene from aotc (cave demo where the ball explodes). and im running a bit hot. just to see how much headroom i had left, i cranked up the bass...well just consider me a smiling fool with a tempest.
