I am rethinking the subs. The subs will be on the floor of the balcony (out of sight). This means the subs will be 10' up from the floor of the main room, which has an overall height of about 19'. Most people tell me the 6.5" drivers on the deftech in-walls I have selected will not be enough...
@robert... The QSC amps I have chosen are dual channel (350w x 2 @ 8 ohms), which perfectly match the RMS rating of the speakers. In short, each pair of speakers will be connected to an amp. Your point on the subs is not lost on me. I am still researching to find something reasonable...
That was my first thought, but then I would have to use two sets of y connects to get the 3 left and 3 right surrounds. That begins to look ugly, but I suppose it will all be inside the server tower and out of sight.
I think my question is answered. However, it raises a new question: How do I hook up 12 speakers (Lx2, Rx2, Cx2, LSx3, & RSx3) and 2 subs to a 5.1 system only designed with outs for 5 speakers and 1 sub? In short, there are a total of 7 dual-channel rack mounted amps I will be connecting to.
I am looking at wiring a fairly significant dinner theater with a 180" screen using a simple 5.1 surround. I am looking at using 2 speakers for the FL (350w x 2), 2 speakers for the FR (350w x 2), 2 speakers for the Center (350w x 2), 3 speakers for the LS (200w x 3) and 3 speakers for the RS...
I suppose I am looking for the right term for what I am trying to do so that I can google a specific product that will meet my needs. I thought "preamp" was the word I was looking for, but gene c's reply suggests "pre-outs". How does one tell if a receiver is capable or dispersing a signal...
I am designing a "dinner theater" for a winery. Any help in critiquing what I have come up with so far is greatly appreciated! Please note that the primary use of this area of the winery is not as a theater, but as a reception hall, ballroom, etc. The winery will resemble a 17th century...
I am putting together a Dinner Theater at a winery and need some help with a preamp or decoder. I am technically savvy, but have never before encountered a situation in which each of my speakers had their own amplifier. I am trying to figure out how to decode a 5.1 or 7.2 surround system, but...
