I've used the Acurus with a set of Martin Logan speakers with great results. I'm pretty sure it'll handle anything you want to use.

I've considered this but I don't think I want to rely on renting till HD DVD appears. there are just too many steps in the meantime: new displays, new hardware, new software, new pre-amps, etc... so I'll stick with what works in the hear-and-now instead of holding out for the future.

I agree that the earlier criterion stuff with film historians are extremely interesting.... this matrix selections just seem like a lark. it sounds like it'll be a savaging instead of just critiquing. oh well. I'm probably going to get it anyway.

I understand why W brothers are keeping silent on the commentary tracks... but the choice of the those two philosophers and the critics who disliked the films seem bizarre to me. I hope they'll at least get all the lit. references and such.
