I went into HMV today to check it out, thought about picking up the Dual Disc version, until I saw the price: $15 Cdn for the regular CD, $45 Cdn for the Dual Disc!!! I know HMV is usually over priced, but 3x the regular CD price!? Stayed with the regular CD. I prefer music in 2 channel anyway...
Sorry if this was mentioned elsewhere, but I haven't heard anything about a 2001 re-release. Is it just speculation? This book looks awesome, and I am def saving money by getting it from the UK. 70 pounds UK (about 163 Cdn) vs Amazon.ca's price of $244 cdn. Savings of $80? Plus a few months...
The problem is most likely that your computer is outputting too strong a signal into the inputs of your receiver. Go into your computer/soundcard settings, and look for a volume control there. There will likely be an "output" volume, or "aux out" or "5.1 out" or whatever. It is most likely set...
The True Romance commentary is definitely him solo. He fills the entire movie with constant talking, only forcing himself to be quiet for the "Sicilian Speech" scene. I love him, he's just like a really over stimulated kid. haha.
I'm a little fuzzy on where I read that; it was a few years ago. But I do remember him saying he didn't like doing commentaries for any movies he's directed, but would do them for other movies (hence why he did the True Romance commentary). It's a shame, becuase I always find his insights into...
I doubt there will be any Kill Bill audio commentary with QT, because he has stated before that he will not do commentaries for any of the movies he directs. I'm not sure of his reasoning, but so far he's stuck to it.
On the bilingualism in Canada: I saw the Raging Bull SE on the shelf in HMV WITH a bilingual cover (French was there, but not very large), but the Box Set (which I purchased), has NO bilingual covers, either outside, or on the inside (ie, my Raging Bull sleeve in English only). Like others, I...
Yeah, DVD Beaver is comparing the new SE to the OLD MGM version of Raging Bull (which, I believe, is out of print) to the UK PAL version. I would assume the new single disc version is the exact same transfer, just just minus the second disc of extras. Kind of interesting that the new SE...
The problem with this sort of thing is that it isn't entirely like its big bad Monster Cable picking on every little company they can find. According to US Trademark laws, if someone infringes on your Trademark (ie, Monster), you are required by law to challenge the use of the mark. Its not...
Just saw this over on the Axiom board, figured I'd throw it up here for people to check out. They look pretty interesting... (I can't post a link yet, so just copy and paste) soundstage.com/traveler/traveler.htm
I got the impression that Budd was the only one of the group that realized the wrongness of what they did; murdering people. Not that he wouldn't do it, rather he just acknowledged to himself that it was wrong, hence his living in squalor and working at a crappy job was a self-inflicted...
I'm not sure where you read this, but I haven't heard or read anything to support this. Agreeing with what others have posted, and from what I read during production, Kill Bill started out as a shorter movie (original script, before any filming took place), but grew and grew as QT kept filming...
I might be wrong about this, but I believe that Dario Argento's Suspiria (1977) was one of the last movies shot in the three strip Techicolor process. The Transfer on the Anchor Bay DVD is gorgeous.
