Star Trek films on Blu-Ray... what we know so far

They didn't visit modern day Earth in TOS because of budget constraints. There were episode proposals that involved that but were shot down or rewritten.

    Blu-ray Review Argo Blu-ray Review

If memory serves me, LOA was actually a little longer on its initial release as opposed to the current restored version. The lost footage was found to have no soundtrack, they tried dubbing a Jack Hawkins sound-alike, but it didn't work well. You can see the scene as an extra. Robert Harris can...

    Blu-ray Review Argo Blu-ray Review

Richard Brooks adaptation of Truman Capote's In Cold Blood was pretty accurate, even as far as filming at the actual locations including the Clutter home where the murders took place. The Onion Field is another one, done in a quasi-documentary style. Both of these films are regarded as some of...

    Blu-ray Review Argo Blu-ray Review

My dad was with the Agency for 35 yrs and was part of the team that executed this mission. He told me all about it in the 80s since I had a clearance at the time being prior military. I can tell you right now that many of the close-calls depicted in the film didn't happen, especially the final...

A Few Words About A few words about...™ This is Cinerama -- in Blu-ray

Blu-ray Review Lawrence of Arabia: 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Blu-ray Review

This is incredible! When seeing this in the theater in 1988, during the scene of the return of Lawrence coming back from the Anvil to rescue Gasim, you could see that tiny little speck of Lawrence on the first shot of the horizon. But on network television, no way. On cable, no way. On VHS...

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Midnight Express -- in Blu-ray

It's good film for dramatic reasons, but it's so far from the true story that even Billy Hayes won't acknowledge it. Davis and Hurt turn in terrific performances though despite Stone's liberties in screenplay dept. But if you want the REAL story, see the National Geographic doc as told by Hayes...

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Total Recall -- in Blu-ray

I just bought this 2 weeks ago, and my first impression was that Paul Verhoven may have developed cataracs. The picture is just too bright! I have to but my BD player in theater room mode on bright days to make it look reasonably good. Did you get that impression?
