I watched about half an hour of it, changed the channel for awhile, came back to see if it had improved (since I'd heard good things), and watched about 20 more minutes, and turned it off. Pretty bad in my opinion. And hey, it's my list, isn't it? :p)
2000 - Battlefield Earth, not just the worst sci-fi movie ever, but one of the worst movies ever, period. 2001 - oh wow. so many to choose from. Bubble Boy comes to mind. (thank goodness I only saw bits of it on TV) 2002 - The Time Machine. What a butchering of a literary classic. 2003...
Count me in as someone who would like to see this movie released in OAR. An underrated movie IMHO, and hard to believe thats Sir Ian McKellan as Dr. Lane! Oh and FYI.. I know this is not much consolation considering the disc is full-frame, but there is a DTS release of this movie on DVD...
I still like the show.. each season has its hits and misses, though lately there are a lot of misses. It seems like the writers have not given much for the "secondary" characters to do. Johnathon and Martha have been virtually nonexistent lately, and Lex/Jason/Lana have haven't been too busy...
Ahh, thanks Scott...I knew the Venture was a "famous" ship but couldn't place the reference. As far as other references in the film, yes, Scott, the robot laser blasts are out of War of the Worlds. Also as Polly runs thru an alley in the early part of the movie, the name "Victor Fleming" is...
Worst three: (in no particular order) 1. Moonraker - This one is just pure cheese. Jaws goes from menacing villian to Wyle E. Coyote in this movie. Every time Bond "dispatched" him I was just waiting for Jaws to raise a sign above his head that said "Yipe!" 2. Licence to Kill - Although I...
Will, the new release isn't there, but I thought I'd post the link anyway, just to give folks an idea of how the older releases compare to the "newer" R2 release. At least according to that website :)
For anyone interested in the video quality of the new release can look here... it is a video comparison of all the Fifth Element releases. Since the new R1 release looks identical to the R2 SE, I thought this might be relevant. The edge on the comparison seems to go to the R1 Superbit.
I'm reminded of an episode of the Simpsons where they talk about all the versions of A Christmas Carol, including a Star Trek version. Captain Kirk orders the Enterprise to fire on the Ghost of Christmas Future, only to have Scotty exclaim, "I can't! He's showing me visions of my future! My...
Matt, to be perfectly honest, while both shows I feel are very good, you don't need one show to understand plots on the other. There were very few Angel/Buffy crossovers. Angel S1 had only two episodes where Buffy actually appeared, along with a cameo or two from Willow. Angel also...
I liked Supremacy.. but the shaky camera really took me out of a lot of the action sequences. I honestly didn't know who was winning or who we were looking at in the fight and car chase sequences. So I can't put this in worst movies of 2004, but maybe the most disappointing...
