Yep, your right. However, although I control all components through my Philips Pronto NG remote, I do use the receiver most of all. Wayne Ernst, Thanks a lot for the compliment. All in all the rack cost me 400 Euros in materials, which is significantly less than what I...
I just completed building an hifi-stand, I designed myself. It is made of a welded steel frame, the standalones sit on glass-plates, which in turn rest on 3 spikes on the frame. You can read more about the stand on my website: http://www.busch.nu/busch_hifi-rack.htm Cheers, Belgarath
Chris: Thanks for the compliment! Just started on "Pawn of Prophecy" again, i love this series. Scott L: Thanks man. Check out my article, the cooling setup is explained there. ok,ok, it's a Zalman CNPS-6000CU cooled by 2 70 mm reduced speed case-fans that blow air via a shroud (custom...
Thanks a lot Joe Hsu. That must have been www.HardOCP.com It was very kind of them to mention my design on the site. I don't know about using real names here, I have used "Belgarath" for almost 7 years now. This reminds, me it's high time I read one of David Eddings books again. :-)...
I think it looks absolutely great, now all I have to do is install some more plugins... Check out the "Busch"-logo (my lastname), I machined out of a piece of brass, and the decals, which I made myself, on the frontpanel. I wrote an article about it, which you can read at my website...
This is not the fault of the nForce chipset (or motherboards with Via chipsets). Until today I have not heard of a motherboard that died because the north- or south-bridge burned out. When a motherboard dies it is due to the fact that substandard parts were used, or just a bad design. Belgarath
Your receiver (and in principle all modern receivers) can be seen as a computer. When you switch them on, they boot into their operating system, which is stored in a chip, this software is called firmware. It can be upgraded to a new version via the RS-232C port, but this differs from brand to...
I have a RS-232C port on my Sony STR-VA555ES too. I used it about a month ago to upgrade the firmware from version 1.4 to 1.76 using my computer. Belgarath
I have had similar problems when trying to set up a LAN with XP-machines. In all occasions the build in firewall of XP was the cause. Switch it off and everything should work fine. Belgarath
What has happened to this site? I wanted to download this Ecellent HTPC windows-shell, but have been unable to access the website for over a week now. Does anyone know what happened to it? It would be a shame if it died... Belgarath
Cool, thanks for the link and info.
About 2 months ago I read in a thread on this forum that someone had had their 5ES upgraded in a shop to version 1.74.
So I called Sony Technical Support in Germany and tried to get some info on where and how to get the update for my STR-VA555ES.
There...
