Does anyone know how many dB louder this dvd soundtrack is recorded at compared to most dvds? If anyone also knows how many dB louder the other LOTR dvds(theatrical or ee) are feel free to speak up. Thanks.

I also prefer DPL2 music mode when watching 2 channel material. Jim Fosgate created DPL2 and has said he prefers DPL2 music mode for movies.

Thanks. I think it is a bad batch, it pixelates on my toshiba, sanyo, pioneer and panasonic dvd players.

Can anyone who owns this dvd, please check the theatrical trailer on the widescreen side and see if it pixelates. I have exchanged it 2 times and the trailer on the widescreen side pixelates on several dvd players. Thanks.

Go into your dvd players menu and select digital out, then make sure Dolby Digital reads "bitstream" and DTS reads "yes" or "on". Welcome to the htf.
