    Video/Audio Signal Distribution Via 802.11g?

The Belkin unit is essentially what I've been looking for. Thanks for pointing this out. Looks like it transmits up to a 40mbs signal utilizing a proprietary wireless protocol. It's expensive for what it does though. It looks like I'd have to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $450 for it. I...

    Delphi XM MyFi

Just a quick note to anyone considering purchasing one of these. The personal, wearable antenna is virtually worthless. The internal antenna picks up as good a signal as it does, IMO. If you happen to reside in an area where there is a terrestrial repeater you will likely get decent reception...

    Video/Audio Signal Distribution Via 802.11g?

Several months ago, I saw a portable television that Sharp had introduced that utilized 802.11b wireless to transmit a digital signal from a base unit to the television. At first, this seemed similar in operation to the audio/video wireless sending units that most everyone is familiar with...

Can Anybody Here Recommend a Good Luthier?

I've heard some people suggest that the heavy polyurethane finishes that the manufacturers seem to favor now seals the wood and doesn't allow it to age. I don't know how true that is but it certainly sounds reasonable.

Can Anybody Here Recommend a Good Luthier?

Thanks, I already have an older Takamine. It does sound pretty good. The newer ones I've heard don't have the same crisp sound and sustain as the older ones in my opinion. Not sure of the difference though. Could it be the finish they are putting on them? Good old guitars seem to get better...

Can Anybody Here Recommend a Good Luthier?

I know from past threads that there are a few guitar aficionados here on the forum. I beginning my search for a custom hand-crafted acoustic guitar and I'm curious to know what maker others here are familiar with. I'd love to own an Olson (Olson Guitars) but the wait-time and the cost are out...

    Burning CD's from Vinyl?

The Tascam CDRW-700 CD Recorder has the ability to adjust the sound level "floor" which triggers the auto-track feature that you guys are discussing. You can adjust it to compensate for tape hiss and other background noise. At one time I had a Philips CD recorder as well but I never used it...

    FT - 10 DVD's - MANY UNOPENED

I'm looking to get rid of some duplicates that I have and some movies that I otherwise don't care to keep. Some have never been opened. Here's the list: Tarzan (Disney Animated) Dr. T and The Women The Blair Witch Project (Sealed) O Brother Where Art Thou? Casablanca (Sealed) 007...

    Quality kitchen knives

Erik, The curvature of the blade, especially in the chef's knives, is important to allow the blade to "rock" back and forth when chopping. While it's debatable whether or not there is an ideal blade design, all chef's knives should have some degree of curvature to the blade. Anyway, when you...

Is it safe to play a gaming system(XBox, PS2, Gamecube) on a RPTV?

It's pretty much true. You should be careful playing video games on just about any monitor and especially RPTV's. If all the action on the screen is constantly moving then the harm done is probably minimal. The problem with many video games is that they often have areas at the top, bottom, or...

how long to thaw a turkey??

Since you mentioned that you were going to smoke it I would lean more toward thawing it in the refrigerator than in a pan of water. While you just might be okay either way, thawing it in the refrigerator would ensure that the bird doesn't get warm enough to encourage bacterial growth. Smoking...
