I got it yesterday for the PS4 as basically an update for my 360 DOA 5(well also 2 new characters).

The same BS exhausting story mode is still here. The real beauty is in the arcade mode, and online fighting. Arcade is the most fun for me (unlocking all of Christie's costumes). The graphical upgrade is pretty stunning. The sweat on the fighters looks more realistic, and the ability to unlock different hairstyles for the fighters is great, gives them an entirely new look(I love the look of Christie's new bob haircut).

DOA 4 was my favorite fighting game of all time, and it is a shame that Team Ninja fired Itagaki, because if he was at the helm of 5 it would have probably exceeded all expectations. Instead we have the most beautiful fighter game in existence, that builds on DOA 4's game engine meaning the gameplay is nearly flawless. The story mode is complete nonsense, and in my opinion not worth going through once. Online fighting is great, just don't expect any comfortable host rooms to join like in 4. Everything in the online setup is cold, and mechanical. So I guess that leaves the arcade mode which is the most fun for unlocking items, and local play against a friend. For those that have never owned it $39.99 is a steal for so much content.

Very gorgeous game on the PS4, with great gameplay that might hook you for hours if you let it. It just feels like it is missing something that DOA 4 had in spades: heart.
