The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

The Specials

--The New Release grids are pretty much the whole story this week as the retailers take a breath after the holidays..

--Best Buy's got nothin'.

--Target this week has an EXCLUSIVE COMBO PACK BLU RELEASE of Left Behind.  Everyone else has just a 1-disc Blu release.

A nice surprise to wake up this morning and find the RoundUp already here! Thanks, Mike!

I have a few Fox titles assigned to me to review which may or may not arrive. If I don't get Archer to review, I will likely buy it at some point even though I didn't think season five's Archer Vice reboot was quite as funny as the previous four seasons.

Oh. And here's a little side note.

I was just going to go with the poster for Boyhood in the OP...but when I saw that image of Patricia Arquette with the actor playing her son in the film, I figured to include it as well.

So then I started to do a little digging on just what Patricia Arquette has been in--as I know it's a name I've heard for years but couldn't really place. I thought the first paragraph of her IMDB bio said a mouthful:
With her expressive blue eyes, soft, Southern-tinged voice and an acting range that can carry her from hysterically funny to terrifying in seconds, Patricia Arquette is one of the most underrated and talented actresses of her generation. Though she has been working for years, she's always stayed just under the radar of true stardom, despite a 1995 marriage to Nicolas Cage.
I figured her relations to Rosanna, David & Cliff Arquette.

She's a stunner!

Well, Patricia hasn't been THAT under the radar. She had a hit television series Medium which ran for seven years and won her a Best Actress Emmy.

And her work in possibly the finest film of the year, Boyhood, should not (and I bet) go unnoticed. Truly an amazing performance over 12 years, in real time.

All things I haven't seen (which is a VERY long list).

I'll be keeping my eye out for her. And will definitely be giving Boyhood a chance. What an interesting idea. I saw Ethan Hawke on Kimmel on a recent repeat talking about it.

Thanks for the Roundup, Mike!

I've had Boyhood standing as a preorder from Amazon for months on end since it first became available. I was about to cancel it but just saw an email that it shipped, so my hope is that Amazon will later match BB's price and give me the difference via the preorder price guarantee. I hope.

That's it this week, but what a movie it is. I want The Bridge season 2 to complete my collection, but I will not pay that much for it so will wait for a price drop -- especially considering it's a DVD and should, but won't, receive a hi-def release like season 1 did.
