I have a JVC rx 402b. I bought it factory recertified about 5 years ago. It recently started having issues with the input. I will be watching a movie or playing a game, and the receiver will start cycling thru dvd, vcr, am radio, fm radio, etc. for no reason. It's not the remote because i pulled the batteries out and it still happened. Sometimes it will only move one input channel. Other times it will keep cycling until i turn it off. Is my receiver dead or can this be solved easily? Thanks in advance.-Isaac

That sounds like a communication issue between the face plate and main board. Onkyo went through this on 1year of their AVR 3 years ago.Not guaranteeing...but could be.But it is likely not worth fixing.

I had a receiver that started randomly changing volume. My cat loved to sleep on it, and when I opened it up and blew out all the dust and cat hair, it stopped happening. Just a thought.

Ok. I'll try blowing and vacuuming it out. I haven't done that at all since I've owned it.

Try covering the IR sensor with your hand next time it happens. I wonder if it could be picking up another remote control and doing something funny? Not that it should pick up another remote control but my HARMAN KARDON AVP1a the green power ON flickers if I aim any other remote at it,m but it won't change any of the functions modes.
