Makes sense. I was hoping the new Xcode wasn't tied to 10.10 :)

I've done a little doodling in Ruby because it's easy and standard issue in OS X. It's nice because all you need is TextMate, maybe a Terminal window. You get fast results. The downside is there's no graphics or UI ability on the Mac. I'm hoping Swift plus the new Xcode will be suitable for Ruby-esque dabbling with the benefit of easy GUI or graphics, but without the overhead of Obj C or needing to create full-bore projects.
