These titles are being reissued to tie in with the new Apes theatrical release.

 

Just thought I would post them here if anyone doesn't have them yet....

I'm wondering what happened with the 2K restoration of the 68 film Fox was working on a few years ago.  It seems a missed opportunity.

In 2011, when Rise of the Planet of the Apes came out, the Film Forum ran what was billed as being a 35mm print of a brand new restoration -- so assuming it's the same thing, it at least has been out there in some form.

 Are you sure the 1968 Apes film is just a reissue and not a newer transfer?

Bryan,

 

Not sure.

 

I was guessing a simple re-issue to coincide with the theatrical release.

 

However, at the same time, if a new transfer has been struck what a better

time to release it.

I was at Best Buy today and they had the 5 film set repackaged in a standard blu package on sale for $20. New cover art too.
