My AVR has no automatic calibration, so I did it manually.  I set the distances to each speaker, crossovers, and levels (spl meter).

What else should I be setting in the AVR?

Whatever options there are.

I would assume there is EQ there somewhere. Even a 5-band is better than nothing. What does Sony provide on the 520?

According to the manual (not w/ the AVR now), there is an EQ for Front speaker bass and treble.  +- 10db in 1db intervals.
