The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer:All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from theirprinted Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by eachchain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the websiteprice.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week inthe RoundUp.The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well asthose which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers(and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don'tcomplain! If there is a title not includedin the RoundUp that youwant to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough topost and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp.They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, sothere is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR localWal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still outof business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their pricesanyway).

Check receipts carefully if you try and use this promotion. Last time I I tried this, some TV sets (Supernatural S2) were not recognized as TV sets at the register. It took about 15 minutes at the service desk to get them to fix things.

Only Dexter S7 this week. Though I may wait as I still have S5-S6 to watch.

Second Chorus?? On Blu-Ray??

This is a surprise. I mean, I know I want more Fred Astaire, but this was very unexpected (I realize its probably because it is PD, but still …)

Being a Zooey Deschanel fan I may have to pick up Tinman for that price, even though the movie may not be very good. Plus, it has Alan Cumming! I'm surprised Philadelphia isn't getting a studio release, but Twilight Time will do a good job.

I somehow totally missed Philadelphia coming out this week. It's a movie that always gets to me, but I don't know if I can justify that price tag right now. I haven't watched the 2 disc DVD is years. Maybe when the next pay day rolls around...

I haven't seen it in many years also, but it may be time to watch it again, even if on DVD.

Once again, Sony shows that its left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing as they continue to license movies out in limited-editions like this instead of putting them out themselves to help the format THEY created!

Just waiting around for the review copy of Leave Her to Heaven to arrive. Pretty spare week for me otherwise.

Thanks for the prices, Mike.

Crimewave is the one to grab. Bruce Campbell breaks down how things went really wrong which pretty much made a Sam Raimi - Coen Brothers production go nearly straight to HBO. The film is good knucklehead entertainment. Shout! Factory does a fine job giving it a proper release after all these decades.

I had the strangest experience putting together this week's RoundUp.

About mid-week, I'll get the Amazon prices researched...and then closer to the posting of the WRU online, I add all the links to the amazon prices. At that time I usually find the Amazon prices have been lowered to match the advertised prices at places like Best Buy, Target and Fry's. So, I update the prices and add the links.

However, this week...a large number of Amazon prices went UP--just before the Sunday ads went "live"...making them actually higher than their competitor's prices. It was pretty strange.

I still expect Amazon to price match on Cloud Atlas, but not fall back to the price I got back in December. Yes, I've had this preordered for over 5 months!

So ... All these new "Mastered in 4K" Blu-rays ... Are they being released to (somehow) support the new 4K TV's?? If so, then I don't get it as Blu-ray players can only provide 1080p tops.I suppose what this *really* amounts to is the DVD "Superbit" concept exported to BD. (Which, admittedly, scaled-up better on many HD sets due to the decrease in compression artifacts.)It will be interesting to see if the reviewers can spot any real increase in quality between these new 4K releases vs the original release of the titles in question.

I think the original Battlestar Galactica (TV movie, edited for the big screen) is out Tuesday as well, but, it is a Best Buy Blu ray exclusive.

That would be the only thing i want. It would also be my first trip into Best Buy in months.

Hmmmm. How'd I miss that one?!? An exclusive they didn't even bother to include in their flyer?!?

It will be $14.99
