I really dislike the UV model mostly because the times I use portable copies is when I'm traveling. I don't always have streaming access then. This is why I like Digital Copy. I have 90 movies with me on my laptop and some subset on my iPad.

So if a consumer buys a movie from 1 seller, he gets UV ~ but if he buys from the same movie from certain other sellers, he doesn't get UV. Doubt it's likely to confuse the general public yet (since the only people who seem to be aware of UV are on HTF to begin with). But it does seem to be at odds with all the fanfare that surrounded the initial rollout. From the Ultraviolet web site: "UltraViolet is wherever you like to shop for movies or TV shows, (in-store, in-app or online) and however you like to buy them (disc, stream, file). Just look for the UltraViolet logo" Needs one of those disclaimers that Homer Simpson hears when he's watching a TV commercial, "not available anywhere" - read under the breath, really fast. I guess the UV logo is on certain versions and not on others.Sam Posten said:Wait what? You cant buy UV blurays at Walmart or Target, they are prohibited from selling them. Forgive the term but how much more retarded could this system be?

Reading what wrong and what is that virus stuff about?Sam Posten said:Can one of you UV apologists, er fans, tell me if I'm reading that right or wrong please? And how it makes ANY sense if I'm correct?
From Sarah's post that retailers are prohibited from selling UV disks. My reply: "Wait what? You cant buy UV blurays at Walmart or Target, they are prohibited from selling them. Forgive the term but how much more retarded could this system be?" How can that be possible? How is that a good idea? Why would you support studios pulling shit like this? AKA why would you, as a lover of movies, let this virus as I call it, spread. Why would HTF endorse UV? What good will come of this? SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE.TonyD said:Reading what wrong and what is that virus stuff about?
