A few days ago, I clicked on one of the ads I saw here on HTF. It was from a company called BookZap. They offer a variety of old time radio programs (OTR) on DVD mp3, as well as pdf files of many classic works on DVD. Their prices appear quite reasonable, particularly for most of their mega-collections. I was thinking about placing a small order with them, as I enjoy some OTR programming, but I was curious if anybody here has previously ordered anything from them. If so, how was the service? How good or bad are the mp3 files? Since it's OTR, I obviously don't expect state of the art high fidelity recordings, but I at least would like to know that they're halfway decent quality. If anybody has had any experience with this company (whether good or bad), I'd be very interested in any comments you may have.

Thanks
Steve K.

Hi,

Yes. We have made 10 Old Time Radio Show purchases over the past two years with Bookzap; www.bookzap.com. All 10 of these transactions went very well. They are very nice people, with fun products, good service and fast support. We were also quite impressed with their active support of many humanitarian causes. Why aren't there more like these?

A+

This message thread looks like "bookzap employee #1" writing to "bookzap employee #2."

There are a lot better sites out there to get your favorite old time radio shows like Dadsotr.com

I have purchased from 40sradiomysteries and bestoldtimeradio and both have quick shipping and a great collection. Their programs are all in mp3 format so you have to have an mp3 player or a stand alone dvd player that will play these files. I use my computer and an mp3 player and 90% of the files work great. Because these are collections and one person doesn't encode all of them some are scratchy and some are recorded at different volume levels but otherwize they are great entertainment.
I am new to this forum and I wasn't allowed to post the complete URL on the sites listed above. Just add the .com and they should work.

I just purchased one of their Giant DVD collections -- 18 DVDs, plus w compilation DVDs they threw in for free -- and WOW -- I've purchased an AMAZING collection of material (I've been collecting for 20+ years and have never seen anything like this) plus the fastest shipping, and above all the friendliest, most responsive, swift customer service -- I recommend BookZap without reservation, and hope you enjoy the thousands of hours of rare material they offer!
