Ive had replayTV and I'm struggling a bit with the DIRECtivo, I just got. Let's say I want to to record the 11 PM ET Howard Stern on E every night. How do I prevent it from taping the 11:30, 2:00 AM and 2:30 AM versions? Adjusting the record first run (vs repeats) didnt do it.

Are there program descriptions with each show? If not, there may be no way to prevent TiVo from scheduling the repeats. With a Season Pass, TiVo will schedule any episode that either lacks a description or has a generic one. The software errs on the side of recording things that might be reruns but you can't be sure from the program information.

Best bet is to use a manual recording of E on M-F from 11 to 11:30 and not a season pass because the Guide data is poor.
