DIY CABLES help picking RCA's

i found a thread/page awile back that had extensive info about diy cables. then of course i lost it Posted Image

so iv been scouring forums/google trien to find info on it...

came up with realy 2 good pages [still cant find the original i found which was very nice]

im making interconnect cables for my HomeTheater/Gaming PC
anyway im using toslink for media [DD, DTS] and soon anolog 7.1 for game surround standards like EAX
will probly be hooked to a turtle beach or SB audigy2 card

anyway i now need to decied 2 things...
1. WHAT RCA ENDS
SCOSCHE
PHOENIX GOLD
DAYTON AUDIO
2. WHAT 3.5 MINI JACK ENDS
NEUTRIK (only gold choice at partsexpress anything else? radio shack?)

any imput and/or links to helpfull diy cable info would be great

Other than WBT I think Scosche, Pheonix,Dayton, NXG etc all
make very good phono connections don't forget Neutrix also.

I like the Dayton Locking RCA's. I use them exclusively. I think I have used about 15 packs so far and have another 10 leftPosted Image

sounds like those daytons are the best bang for the [good "wbt knockoffs"]



as for mini jacks connectors what do u think? having trouble finding a selection of them anyware what about radio shack?

Nathan,

Go to parts express click on connectors.. they have every
single connector you can think of... XLR,TRS,PHONO,SUB MINI,
F,MOLEX etc! Posted Image


I had my order all ready for PE and I was going with WBT
Midline locking RCA's and once again I backed out.. Geesh
why can't I bring myself to spend $12.00 each for phono
plugs Posted Image

I ordered 30' of 20awg pro mic cable (2 conductor + Sheild)
3 packs of Dayton Locking RCA's (that's 12 connectors...),
25' of Neon Blue Techflex 3/8", 25' of White Techflex 1/8",
2 Neutrix Femal XLR Connectors, 8 Monster Cable Cable Pants
and some other stuff.....


Ohh yeah.... Gettin ready to do some mad cable fabbin y0!
