I'll tell you one thing. If I ever get elected any office, the first thing I'll do is to get rid of this damn daylight savings time. Grrr.

Anywho... let's get to it.

I'll have to check the CompUSA deal out since I now have a Zelda and no Cube. That's certainly better than any rumored price cut.

Edit: The ad is deceiving. You buy Metroid for $50 and get the GameCube for $100, which is the same as the free game deal.

Man, there's just no love for the Xbox or PS2 games I'm looking into buying. What does it take to get a sale on ZOE2 ?

I've heard rumors that ToysRUS is going to be bringing back one of the VERY popular sales on PS2 games that they've done twice in the past, but they're just rumors.

And just to not-be-sneaky about things, that would be the "Buy two PS2 games, get one free" deal, would it not?

Nothing for me this week, but thanks anyway, Glen. . .

Man, I really need to upgrade my PC so I can run Delta Force: BlackHawk Down, Rainbow Six: Raven Shield, not to mention Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon :frowning:

Boy, that CompUSA deal is pretty sneaky. Looking at it, you should be able to fight to get that game for free. After all Nintendo is offering the game for free when you buy a console. It's pretty poorly advertised.

This was mentioned over in the video game hardware forum but I think it bears mentioning here.

Wal-Mart has a Gamecube bundle with an indigo Gamecube, Zelda:The Wind Waker, Zelda:Ocarina of Time, and a Gamecube/Gameboy link cable for $150.

My wife and I just picked up one of those yesterday. (Wal-Mart on Murphy Canyon for you SD people)

The Wal-Mart nearest our house had none, but it was worth the 20 minutes on the freeway to find one that did. So If you've been waiting on a 'Cube now's a good time to pick one up.

So the only football game I've ever had for my PS2 was Madden 2002, can I safely assume that $9 for NFL2K3 is worth it for an upgrade? Thanks!

Glen (or anyone else who knows)

Are those price drops at Blockbuster for used or new games? I've never shopped at one (and I don't rent DVDs) so I just want to make sure before I head in to my local BB and ask for MechAssault.

Thanks!

Carlo,

The games at Blockbuster should be new. I saw a few new copies of MechAssault at one of my local Blockbuster stores when I was in there last.

Good luck.

Matty,

NFL2K3 plays quite a bit differently from the Madden style, but in my opinion is a better game.

I'd recommend it for $9, bucks.

Also, just to let everyone else know. I saw those $5 reservation disks for Brute Force when I was at my local Best Buy the other day. If you pay the $5 bucks you get some sort of Halo/Halo2/Brute Force preview DVD. Also included on the disk is the entire contents of the Xbox Exhibition 2 demo disk. Not a bad deal if you're going to be buying Brute Force.

What is the reason that NFL2K3 is so cheap?

I picked it up last week from Toys r Us and have enjoyed it.

I'm just curious to why a 2003 game is being sold at a rock bottom price.

Sorry for missing that Kenneth. I haven't been paying attention to the PSX releases. :)

It's updated.

As far as why NFL2k3 is being price dropped, it's anyone's guess. Why is MechAssault $20 bucks at Block Buster? Why did Buffy drop to $10 bucks at EB a few months back. All are good games, but for whatever reason the price dropped. All I care about is passing on the good deals. ;)

Paul,

Two things:

1)The football season has been over for a while now. Both Madden and Sega will probably begin advertising their new games during the NFL draft weekend. Also, most places have price-dropped the EA NCAA College Football 2003 to $19.99, so its starting to happen to most football games.

2) Like it or not, EA beats the pants off Sega in the sale of sports games, thus price drops occur sooner. However, most believe that Sega sports games range from approximately equal (NFL2K3) to far superior (NBA 2K3, World Series Baseball 2K3) than their EA counterparts.

FWIW, I really wish Sega sold better than it does. It sucks for Gamecube owners not to get these games anymore. My personal experience: I loved EA NCAA Football 2003 but didn't care for Madden 2003. I tried NFL 2K3 (XBOX) when it went on sale last week but I don't have Live and the game is just not my thing.

I made it into my local Blockbuster this afternoon to snag Metroid Prime for $19.99. Well, after checking the back the clerk comes back out to tell me they were all sold out but told me he could order it. I inquired to make sure I could get it at the same price ($19.99) and he totally freaked out. He couldn't believe they were selling it so cheap, so he double-checked the computer. After verifying the price, I was able to order one with a $5 deposit. I should be able to pick up my copy next Tuesday. :)

Very good news David. It's good to know even if they don't have it in stock they can get the games. I might have to take a look at that list of games again.
