I assume that the B&N Criterion sale will be duplicated at Amazon, since there seems to be linkage between the two. Any reason to believe different?

Sure seems likely, except there usually aren't any additional coupons/offers/cashback programs/etc that can be used w/ Amazon to improve upon the listed sale price.

For instance, B&N members were able to get many Criterion BDs for ~$14 each (before tax) in previous sales whereas Amazon only matched the B&N non-member's sale price of ~$20 each in most such cases. Of course, it does look like the gap will be much smaller for most in future sales judging from recent changes made by B&N.

I was actually paying $14.14 with sales tax included.

Amazon will likely have these at a straight 50% off, so $19.95 or thereabouts. Not sure if they will mark all the Criterions at that price though.

There are already a few $5 off B&N coupons out there now that don't expire until end of July, so the chances are good you will be able to get the same discounts this time. I tried to use one for the current B2G1 sale, and the doofus at the one store told me it wouldn't be worth it because any discount would get applied to the 'free' title since it was the 'lowest priced'. I didn't argue, just left and went to another store where the guy scanned the coupon no questions asked and the discount was applied as I expected it to be- off the total cost.

Days Of Heaven

Aren't those $5 coupons now limited to recently new B&N members? Seems there was new wording added to that effect in the last couple months. That's how it read to me last I checked.

watched The Book of Eli (which I had seen in the cinema) and Flyboys, and found both a bit "lacking" something....especially The Book of Eli, on 2nd viewing at home

I actually own very few blue rays and like to read my reviews first. I bought Star Trek Original Motion Picture Collection and felt cheated. It is better than DVD but not what I was expecting. My screen is only 30 inches and is a CRT set, calibrated as best I can. And yes I do still notice stunning transfers and flaws in the bad ones.

My other discs are The Searchers, Kingdom of Heaven and Coraline. I bought the latter to serve as my reference disc, but Avatar will be taking that role over.

The General (Buster Keaton) $13.90, with shipping, from BestBuy.com during their two day sale. Of course it is back-ordered, so I have no idea when I'll actually get it - but at that price, I'll wait.

The Crazies -2009, was a very good flick. Olyphant was awesome. The car wash is about a mile from my home.

Ordered the new Predator release from BB yesterday for $14.99, guess I'll know shortly what the fuss is all about.
