Good Morning everyone!

Well, I got up early this morning and by 2:45am I found myself
on the line outside of the AT&T store in Oakhurst/Ocean NJ.

I am the 9th person on line. Not bad. The first people were
on line at 7pm last night. Most others arrived around midnight.

Just happy to know that in another, oh, 5 hours I will be a 3G owner.

Reports from UK on the MacRumors fourms -- the O2 activation system crashed/collapsed -- they can't sell any iPhones. Hope AT&T does better. Apple was SO smart on insisting on at home activation for the Original iPhone (took 48 hours+ for my activation to complete about 2 weeks after they had gone on sale. Can you imagine dealing with that in a store?)

And the carriers are SO DUMB on having insisted on in store activation.

Speaking of pictures, that stupid screenshot I put up of the apps i downloaded will hit 1k views this morning and is my 5th most viewed item on Flickr. Ever. With over 6k items on flickr its sooooo disheartening to see that fanboys trump art so heartily =p

C'mon guys, do I really have to take pictures? There are
dozens of them out there. I'd rather set up my iPhone.

Took about 10 minutes to get activated. Not particularly happy
they have to take the iPhone out of the box to activate it in
the store. Went a little slow, but the salesman said this activation
process was all new for them.

Ron, do you still have your original phone, if so, can you compare the screens on them, there are reports to a yellow tinge to the new phone screens, also compare black level and sharpness on the two.

I was extremely dissapointed in the Ipod Touch Screen when I bought it, they had cheapened out and not used the same screen as the phone, indications they did this again with the 3G, can you comment...

The line was split into three sections at the Apple Store in Plano, Texas--managed by police and stretching around the inside of the mall. This was just before noon. I did not want to wait in an insane line, so I called it quits.

I guess the old iPhone will have to do me for a while.

Nah, not really. And before You say my screen is defective, I've compared it at the Apple Store to the demos and they are all like this. The don't reproduce Blacks, theres no contrast to the screen, and the colors are washed out and no vivid at all. I bought an Archos 405 and 605 and they both kill the Touch for color reproduction and Black levels.
