There's unsubstantiated insider Rumors-Mind-You that the solo Oz 3D may in fact be a hybrid, with a single-stream "one-eye view" 2D version accessible to 2D players.
Which would make a lot of the huffy-huffy fan anger at the moment unnecessary (although they could next start thinking about lowering the price), but still waiting for any official detailed confirmation.
If it does turn out to be a hybrid without their telling us, this would be Disney's third example of bad communication turning its core target fans against its own sales. (The first being the "Buy ahead" combo strategy that didn't work with DVD fans, and the other being the DVD packaging to fool DVD fans into buying ahead.
There's also been word that DC combos might be on the way out on the next few editions, now that they've figured out all the work can be done with a paper insert code, but consider that officially Too Good To Be True until confirmed.
