It seems as though the Marantz VC6001 is a Yamaha DVD-C950 with the additions of 1080P, video off, and a removeable power cord. I own both the Yamaha DVD-C750 and the DVD-C950, and I am pretty happy with them. www.onecall.com is the only authorized Marantz dealer who carries the VC6001. Check out their returns policy.

Faroudja de-interlacing but who does the scaling?

Also, does this mean that the same region-free hacks will work with this vc6001? Does it output PAL too?

I would recommend marantz VC 600, if you want, 1080P, 3 years warranty, DVi too. You wont repent.

Just received a small OneCall sales catalog and it has a Denon 2845CI 1080p universal 5 disc dvd changer for $499. First I've heard of it anyway.

might be same in gutts, but less warranty, and possibly/most likely no pal/ntsc region hack availability.

I'm not sure if there is a region hack for it, Nor am I sure it will even accept a Pal DVD!

Denon esp R1 are troublesome to hack, I had a 1920, had to give it away, as I was not able to hack at all, no pal/ntsc.

Both Denon?marantz do divx

Has anybody had good luck playing DVD+/-RDL on the Yamaha DVD-C950? Unfortunately, I get about +/-30 seconds of load attempt followed by a 'NO DISC' prompt. If anyone has good luck, please mention what burning software you used and how it was configured.
