"Rip-Offs" may be a better word than "remakes", but per the IMDB there was Stranger from Venus (starring Patricia Neal!) and The Cosmic Man...both made later in the '50s and both apparently on DVD:

I thought you were talking about the guards (or lack thereof) with the "LOL" tag. I didn't think my memory was that bad concerning a sequel, but with all of the dreck that was passed off as sci-fi in the 50's, I wouldn't have been surprised!

Was it just me, or did anybody else think N. Meyer was a little obnoxious in the commentary with Robert Wise. Not terrible, I guess, but I wanted to hear more Wise and less Meyer.

I love Meyer's commentary for Star Trek II, though. He's OK when by himself!

My parents came in town to check on my knee surgery recovery and bought me this dvd. Great flick. At first, I wasn't really into it, but found myself very intrigued.

Terrific transfer too! Nice job Fox!

The Wonder Woman Season One Two-Parter "Judgement from Outer Space" basically rehashes many of the themes, if not most of the story of TDTESS.
