I really like black comedies (like House of Yes , To Die For, Fight Club, and The Opposite of Sex. They don't really seem to make many of them. Can any of y'all recommend some good ones?

Is Players Club a black comedy? I mean literally, obviously it stars black people, but I dont know that it was intentionally a comedy, yet it's good.

What about Rushmore? Bottle Rocket? (I do NOT recommend The Royal Tenenbaums, it was NOT funny).

Just off the top of my head:

    The King of Comedy

    Dr. Strangelove

    Fargo

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (children's film or not, musical or not, it is definitely a black comedy)

I would classify NURSE BETTY in this category for sure. An under-rated film IMO and a great dvd to boot.[IMG]

Man Bites Dog. I think it was a comedy. Sort of. I remember it being different.

Living in Oblivion. Steve Buscemi. Really liked that one.

If you want to see what happens when black comedy goes bad, check out 'Very Bad Things'. There's a line with dark humor and it crossed it.

Two that I haven't seen on the list so far are:

    Last Supper

Faithful (not near as bad as what it was made out to be, in fact I think that it has some clever things to say about relationships...plus Cher's makeover at the end is so worth it...)

"The Ruling Class" is class satire served without a hint of cream or sugar. "How to get Ahead in Advertising" certainly qualifies. IMHO, "Heathers" is the most brilliant black comedy of the last twenty years.
