There were lots of great 3D moments in the film. It really added to the experience, especially in IMAX 3D. I'll have to double dip for sure to get the 3D version....hopefully there is one.
According to the latest issue of American Cinematographer, that's not the case. The DCP was completed at 2K across the board, different versions included a 2K 2D DCP, an 2K 3D DCP, and a 2K IMAX 3D DCP. The original negative was scanned at 4K resolution but the digital intermediate (DI) was done at 2K, and all of the DCPs are 2K.
I saw it twice, once in Regal RPX and the other in IMAX and I really can't recall anything that stood out. I'm not saying that's a bad thing or the 3D wasn't there, but I sure did miss what you guys saw. Now I'm disappointed I didn't get a chance to catch it one more time. There were lots of great 3D moments in the film. It really added to the experience, especially in IMAX 3D.
