A couple of nice surprises for me there; I Could Go On Singing and Garden Of Evil. I'll have them both of course and probably The Hound of The Baskervilles. The Member Of The Wedding is the only Fred Zinnemann film I've never much liked. The last time I tried was so long ago that it's possible I've changed and might now enjoy the film. I'll have to think about this one.

This is another sterling line-up of titles. Very excited about having Judy's last film and also The Hound of the Baskervilles which I've been craving on Blu-ray for years.

Happy memories of seeing Cat Ballou at the pictures (I even remember the support film, the Michael Winner b/w comedy, You Must Be Joking!). As Kid Shelleen would say, "I'll drink to that!".

I've never seen Garden Of Evil, I decided not to buy it on DVD as the first time I see it, I want it to be in HD (& the UK DVD was mono!). I've had the Bernard Herrmann soundtrack CD for many years, I know the film is not some missing masterpiece, but I think I'll enjoy it.

I really like the brooding, atmospheric nature of Garden of Evil - if you enjoy other Gary Cooper westerns I think you'll definitely enjoy this one. Thanks TT for releasing yet another title on my wish list.

For me, not as good of a bonanza as the last announcements, but I see four titles I'm going to purchase for my collection.

Garden of Evil
Cat Ballou
The Member of the Wedding
The Hound of the Baskervilles

I'll definitely pick up I Could Go On Singing. I might be alone, but I actually prefer it to A Star is Born.

Still hoping to open up a future TT announcement to see Suddenly, Last Summer and The Taming of the Shrew.

Thanks, Nick and everyone at Twilight Time for everything that you do!

The Hound of the Baskervilles is a must purchase for me.

Of the rest, I've only seen Rollerball, which is an easy pass for me.

That leaves nine more titles to try and see before they get to low quantity. And I already had 44 such previous releases to see before. Exciting times!

The 2008 Fox Cinema Classics Collection DVD of "Garden Of Evil" has a lot of extras, including the isolated score track and a commentary with Nick Redman and others.

I would love to see Man of La Mancha from United Artists come out sometime (soon). They were showing a fantastic new HD transfer on MGM HD last year.

Great-another Fox Cinemascope, Garden of Evil.

The two I would have gotten, Garden of Evil and Hound of the Baskervilles, I already picked up on Blu-ray via French and British releases. Here's hoping Paramount and Warner will put out some more John Wayne titles this spring/summer. I'll save my money for that.

Another one that jumped off the page for me was The Member of the Wedding.

Never seen it; know nada about it. But with Fred Zinneman directing Julie Harris and Ethel Waters in a script by the Anhalts, plus another early Alex North score (same year as his wonderful work on Pony Soldier)...well, that'll be a no-brainer.

Garden Of Evil and I Could Go On Singing are no brainers. I already have the British blu of Hound Of The Baskervilles otherwise I would have picked up that too. Member Of The Wedding isn't the kind of film that will benefit much from HD. It's a dialogue driven play so the DVD is good enough for me. I've never actually seen Rollerball all the way through as the power went off in the theater early in the film when I first saw it (yes I got a refund). Never had the desire to see what the rest of it was like. As for the rest, I hope their fans will enjoy them.

I hope I COULD GO ON SINGING is a reasonable transfer. Not expecting miracles, but it is the only movie that captured some of what Garland was like as a live performer. There also seems to be a fair bit of her life wrapped up in her character who is late in arriving for shows, but comes alive once she is on stage. And the monologue near the end, when she talks about performing, seems to be written more about her than her character.

(The other thing I always get a hoot from, is how, during the live concerts in London, the audience members are actually smoking in the theatre, while Garland is performing. It seems so bizarre from a 21st century point of view.)

There are several of the more popular candidates I'm interested in, but I'm most curious about APPASSIONATA because of the female stars in this movie. I'm guessing since this will be $5 less than the others, like the last Italian movie was. If I don't pick it up beforehand, I'll definitely get it during their next sale, just out of curiosity.

"Garden of Evil" and "Cat Ballou" out of the list - already have "The Hound Of The Baskervilles" from Arrow in the UK. On a side note I feel a little "cheated" with regards to the fact that "Rollerball" is being re-released by TT so quickly. I have no interest in starting "yet another discussion" on pricing etc.. on TT's model but I was under the impression that it was a limited release. Doing what has been done with an increasing number of titles from TT appears to undermine the usage of the term limited. TT should probably stop using the term, use a new term or publish some factual statement along the lines of "limited for 18 months" etc... or some equivalent legalese terminology :)

TT play a vital role in the market place (quality product, tackling titles others would not etc...) and I will happily, continue to support them with my purchases but I am beginning to feel just a tiny little bit cheated if you know what I mean. No axes to grind.

Regards,

Brad here. To be honest, not much here for me this time around though I've heard lots of good things about Hound Of The Baskervilles (1959). Just as well as my bank account needs a bit of a rest with two cruises to pay for this year (Happy Wife, Happy Life as the saying goes). But I continue to follow Twilight Time's offerings and spread the word around the Net about TT and their classic movies.

I am looking forward to the 5th Year Anniversary Sale and have my titles selected (thru Wish List) to get this time around.
