Would really like a new HD transfer of Elmer Gantry. Though really I wish Criterion would get it. The last film photographed by John Alton.

Apparently the Fox MOD release of Teenage Rebel is 4:3 pan and scan even though I have a recording from TCM that is widescreen.

I've got Exodus and Man of the West and think the transfers are pretty good considering they only cost $14 each at JB Hifi. Exodus is dual layer whereas Man of the West is single layer.

Doesn't that disc have both widescreen and pan and scan versions on alternate sides of a dual sided disc? I never understood why Fox bothered with the pan and scan transfer. A complete waste of money. It is hilarious that they have chosen to release the Pan and Scan version for their MOD...

It sounds like you need to replace your DVD drive. Any DVD Burner should have no trouble recognising Warner Archive DVDs because (nearly) all of them are burnt (rather than pressed) DVDs.

A Man Escaped is one of the best films ever made.

Forget about extras, the bigger change here is that they will be releasing two films per month!
