    2023-2024 NFL Season

Personally, I wouldn't have taken Nix even with a 3rd round pick. If I had to put money on which 1st round QB busts, Nix would be the easy choice. Denver fell into the trap that teams do too often, reaching for a bad QB prospect in the first round because they are afraid there will not be one...

    2023-2024 NFL Season

On a different note, I heard on the local news this morning that there were an estimated 270,000 at Ford Field for the draft last night. I cannot image that many people packed into that stadium. A friend is going today, courtesy of a vendor.

    2023-2024 NFL Season

I think that Falcons pick was really dumb, too. A close friend of mine is a huge Vikings fan, and he was delighted that McCarthy fell to his team. Personally, I think Penix and Bo Nix were both hugely overrated. Each transferred to pass-happy schools and ran up their numbers facing the horrible...

    2023-2024 NFL Season

Maybe... but in this case I agree with you. After awhile, all the rumors, gossip, etc. is just an excuse to fill all that air time from multiple 7x24 hours sports channels. I've grown tired of all the talking heads on ESPN, the NFL Network, etc. I pretty much ignore it all these days. I don't...

    A question on Garden Hoses

I have a 100 ft. collapsible hose for our South Carolina condo, and use this simple solution. The entire holder easily lifts out of the ground when I want to store it during the times we are not down there. Like you, Ron, I just use the hose to wash the car (and golf cart in our case). For the...

    2023-2024 NFL Season

McCarthy's stats are not as impressive because Michigan had a run-oriented offense. He wasn't throwing the ball all over the place like some of the other QB's running up their stat line. I still think McCarthy is going to make a very good NFL QB. He has all the physical tools, is smart...

    Stoopid 4K Blu-ray question

Any 4K disc player will also be backward compatible with BD and DVD. As for how much you need to spend on a player, it depends on what type of 4K display you eventually end up with. If you buy a display that supports Dolby Vision, then a Panasonic 820 player is probably your best bet. If you buy...

Best Buy To Exit Physical Media Business In 2024

Same here. A couple of years ago, I tried to use my turntable and discovered it was dead. I have no desire to repair or replace it.

    Cat5E cable

Banana plugs will not do anything for audio quality, but they are a great convenience when connecting the speaker cable to your receiver and speakers. Especially the receiver with its tightly spaced binding posts. I use banana plugs for all my speaker connections.

    Taking pics of glass

A circular polarizing filter may also help with the reflections. It works well with reflections on water.

The Prices of New 4k/UHD Releases...

Personally, I almost never buy discs upon their initial release anymore, as the initial prices are higher than I am willing to pay. The days of first week discounts are long gone. I wait for a price drop or sale instead - - or opt for the digital streaming version if it hits my price point first.

    Billy Joel/Heidi game

The BD of the Russia tour and concert is very good. The included documentary was very interesting.

Not All Movie Rewards Programs Are Created Equal

I have 10K points, so enough for 10 movies. There is just nothing I have any interest in with the April offerings (I already have Everest). Hopefully Universal will be true to their word and offer a decent selection of films in June.

Not All Movie Rewards Programs Are Created Equal

The email states that Universal will be offering extra movies under the rewards program in June. I would rather wait to see what is offered than use rewards points on films I have no desire to watch.
