I recently picked up a second-hand Lenovo Thinkstation S20 for a few bucks. It has 1 x DVI out, 1 x Displayport out, 1 x Displayport in, 1 x SPDIF out, 1 x SPDIF in, 5 channel analog out. Twin quad core Xeon processors and a Nvidia graphics card that does 2K no problem.
It came with 2 x 500GB...
Clint - This unit only has stereo speaker connections so cannot turn off surround and center channels as they don't exist.
Sam - HDMI and Toslink audio outputs both turned off.
Update - a factory reset did the trick.
According to the manual -
The DRX-730 downmixes multi-channel sources, such as Dolby Digital and DTS, into a 2-channel stereo mix that you can enjoy through the speakers connected to the DRX-730.
This is simply not working. What I get is the front 2 channels from 5.1 and no dialog etc that...
I have a DP870 Digital Processor and an SR770 AVR connected through RC-5. The remote enables me to power off/on both at the same time. The remote is primarily for the SR770 but I was wondering if there was any way to use it to select the inputs on the DP870.
Any advice appreciated.
Sorry, I probably didn't express myself clearly.
I want to use the same speakers for both the HT (front) and stereo setups by using whatever method is possible. I was attempting this is by taking the signal for the front 2 channels from the TV to the amp as it doesn't appear I can connect the...
I am trying to use the same pair of speakers for both my AVR and my Stereo setups. The speakers are connected to my Denon PMA-360 amp. I would like to also use these speakers as fronts for my AVR (Pioneer VSX-322).
I have several devices connected via HDMI to the AVR and then by HDMI to the...
I have a Samsung BD-H6500 Blu-ray player and a Pioneer VSX-322-K AVR but I cannot get the signal to pass through to the TV.
Other devices (laptop and Chromecast) work OK.
Everything is connected using HDMI cables.
I have tried different HDMI cables between the BD player and the AVR and...
No, you didn't read it wrong.(DVI never carried audio. There has never been "it varies")
Not quite right - I have a PC with DVI out connected to a DVI-HDMI adapter and then to a TV - this carries audio and video.
Well, I have just discovered a single (green) connection on the back of the Marantz marked Multi-Room. I'm guessing this is where I connect to another amp, but is this a mono analog connection or a stereo digital one?
I have a Marantz SR-770 AVR, but no manual.
I would like to use the Multi-Room function and have figured out how to select the second source but am unsure how to get the signal to the 'other' room. I may have this totally wrong, but do I need to connect one set of pre-outs to another amp which...
Your main issue would appear to be hardware related. That processor and amount of RAM are likely to be holding things up.
Buy or build a new HTPC. There's nothing wrong with your OS.
