Well Germany released a less than perfect bluray of DOCTOR DOLITTLE some time back and it was a heck of alot better than the dvd. I could live with the same with STAR!
Just finished listening to the soundtrack. What a lovely piece of music. This is a must buy for any fans of the film. The mono sound also is quite good. There is one right now on Amazon for 23.98.
Watched bluray of TWO FOR THE ROAD again ,this time paying more attention to the music which is wonderful. I just received the original soundtrack from Kritzerland and bought on Amazon. I was very surprised to find it since I thought that the re-recording was the only one available.
The other night I watched a couple of Twilight Time discs with no problem. Then I put in EXODUS which I have played before and got the following message--"Disc does not meet specifications" and would not play. What is going on here?
Yes I know that.I am talking about MGM where the transfer takes place. Many spots at the start look fine. Why the grain goes out of control later on is strange.
If this is film grain, it is film grain out of control. It makes for a totally unacceptable film experience. You would think something could of been done about it the transfer process.
Has anyone noticed in STARDUST MEMORIES starting with the scene where Woody Allen meets his fans outside the film festival that there are a ton of video artifacts that continue on for several minutes and show up in later scenes.
I saw it at the United Artist theater in Detroit in 1967 and if the bluray is from TODD-AO elements it will be one of the best looking discs. I thought it was quite entertaining and the music was very good. The German bluray is missing the TODD-AO credit. The TODD-AO blurays from Fox are the...
