Looney Tunes looks to be one of the biggest flops of the year. It was a huge production but is garnering almost nothing at the box office. Why can't Warner's make money off Bugs et al. at the BO?
The Friday figures revealed 3 things, IMO: 1)Elf is going to be alot bigger than expected 2) Matrix a lot smaller 3) The Looney Toons a lot smaller as well ($2.5 million for Friday..? What's Up with that?).

I noticed that "pirates of the caribbean" was the #1 movie at the box office on tuesday 9/9, which was its 63rd day of release. Does anyone know when's the last time a movie was #1 that deep into its release? Perhaps Titanic?
TerryRL - Good point in the other box office thread about the Lion King having an IMAX take. I agree that should be added to the official total, meaning Nemo would need another 15+ million to top it. That should be a close call...
Peter Kline-
The Lion King grossed 312.9 million in US box office, but it grossed 454 million everywhere else, for a world-wide total of 766.9 million!
So "Nemo" would have a ways to go to top that, particularly if we adjusted Lion King's 1994 dollars to today's dollars (or vice versa)...
Although i prefer both FN and Monsters Inc. to Shrek, i liked Shrek very much as well. David - Yes, and particularly by comparison to the other 'summer blockbuster' films...
with $275 million in BO after this weekend, FN has passed Shrek as the top CG animated film of all time, and Matrix Reloaded for top film of 2003. Congrats to the Disney/Pixar team - great film!
