Occasionally Onkyo prepro show up under $500 from the same era. They were $2000+ new. So no, not really...they are no "cheap HDMI processors". Unless you found a used Outlaw/Emotiva that was $600 new...and can live with how basic they are.

No idea... Yamaha had some where toslink out was Zone 2. But...they weren't cheap new($1000+ new) and not old enough to reach

Or you could buy an older Onkyo avr(easiest to find used) such as the 605/606/705.
