Instead of Harmony. I suggest URC. If your installer can get Elan, they should be able to get URC. URC is "you call him" for issues. Not 1-800-you're on hold for the next available. I bet URC has capability to run Hue as well. To your automation... Client is building a $1,250,000...

As you probably can tell...the "cost" of the Elan HC4 is probably 40% of the cost of installing it. (edit: I'm assuming you've looked up what it costs to buy one, authorized. Ebay firesale "who knows where it came from" doesn't count.) Edit: $2000 is fair for installing one of them. "Worth it"...

That is why you do this yourself. Why do you think I design theatres and sell my service* for $600-$1000? If I have more than 5 hours, on site, and 3 hours planning...I'm going slow. I shouldn't ever do the retail side of this. I spent more than a decade selling wholesale. The custom...

Yes. According to Philharmonic, you buy your center from Salk. You tell them you bought the Phil 3, then they make the center, to order.

That depends on the primary use off the room.I have two bedrooms set up with Boston Acoustics TVee25. I chose them, at the time, for ease of integration and the fact it had two analog inputs(along with optical). My bedroom is an Integra DTR 5.8 with Polk S6, Polk wedges and whatever the center...

In case you don't realize it, you don't use a receiver with the PB235.

5 in-ceiling is a bad idea.If you "just have to do" in- ceiling...Buy a LCR bar to mount with the TV and use the height channel to use 4 in-ceiling.The AT PB235 is as good as everything else that size.

The 2803 should have a MCH input. You could use it, but as the bedroom "brains" it still lacks HDMI. But a BD player with MCH outputs keeps it sorta relevant, but keeping it relevant ruins the "stuff stored in one place".

The HDMI matrix is how your "all your stuff in one spot" works. You can let the AVR do that or buy an external one.Either way...automation costs. If you go external, you need extra IR(no big deal). Two separate systems entirely is what they are selling. There are literally hundreds of ways to do...

What specs? Or do you mean features? What is the installer planning for the HDMI matrix since he took it out of the AVR?

So you could run both next to each other(remote apps can be set AVR 1 and AVR 2) and just run wire.If you are hiding both, technically you don't need a super advanced AVR. It just makes it easier not needing an exterior HDMI matrix (Pioneer has Icontrol built in. Extra cost, but worth it).But...

AVR choice boils down to...What do you want it to do...provide?I did the review of the SC79. It(along with the Denon 4520) has features You may want...and be willing to cruise past your budget for.The SC79(along with the 77, 75 lesser extent...as it loses a bit of what the 79 does) has an...
