I agree with you, Doug. More to point is that the cost of scrapping the entire initial pressing would be nothing for Paramount to absorb. We are only talking about a few 1000 sets, not millions, or 10's of thousands for that matter. For public perception, it might be much cheaper for Paramount...

According to the link I supplied, the answer is yes. Face/Off is a 2 disk set. I assume the reviewer was looking at the disks.

Maybe we should wait to hear what Paramount is going to do. Bottom line is this set retails at only 25.00 a title (on Amazon, it can be purchased as a set for well under 15.00 a title). Certainly not Special Edition pricing, even in SD standards. We can certainly use this issue as a bashing...

Since they were pulled to the scheduled release, there should be few copies that were actually sold. For those that shipped early, my guess is the point of purchase will except them back.

In a word, yes. This is not different than the 'over the top' raving on the POC releases that hit a few months back. Transformers is an exception quality release as were the POC releases. And in another word, while it may have looked as good in either format, it is HD DVD that has it. There...

And yet the AQ if reference material. Guess there are some that base judgement on what they hear, and some that base judgement on the specs on the package.

That is almost what the current (before being yanked) Amazon price was with a Prime discount (52.99 for the set of 4 movies or about 13.00 per movie). Without the Prime discount the price per movie was about 14.50. These are cheap releases for HD.

I agree with you on both points.

I will wait for the new announcement from Paramount as to what is going to be on the disks. At this point, between the link I posted and the memo to the retailers, we are dealing only with the PR/marketing branch of Paramount, not the decision makers. Time will tell.

Seems that Paramount was quick to resopnd to the issues surrouding 'The Jack Reyan' collection and the missing special features.
