Unfortunately, I think that, for some people, just merely knowing that the film is a millimeter off ruins their ability to enjoy it. It's a shame because there must be a mountain of movies out there that these folks can't ever enjoy, but that's their choice.

Does anybody actually watch these transfers instead of looking at screenshots? I watched Goldfinger just last week and the girl was definitely gold on my display. Nobody in their right mind would have mistaken her for silver. :rolleyes

I noticed in one of the Bond-specific forums that a guy claims to have received an advance copy of boxes 3 and 4. He claims that the R1 Goldeneye is the same zoomed in crap that R2 got. Ugh. Guess we'll know in the next couple of days.

Yeah, that was my point. Watch the movie and then tell me it's all messed up. You can't do it. At no point can you find a scene that has somehow lost it's original integrity to the point where it's obvious. Heck, throw it into 3 different displays and you're bound to get three different results...

Thanks for the images gomez. They support my assertion that whatever has been dropped is insignificant. It's so subtle, I'd love to meet the person who dropped this into their DVD player and immediately noticed that something was "wrong". Throw in varying degrees of overscan and the whole thing...

I checked this last night because I was concerned about how bad it would look. All I can say is that there are a bunch of folks with way too much time on their hands. I was expecting to see titles and the sides of heads chopped off. Needless to say, assuming the frame was legitimately cropped...
