I've had a chance to listen to the KEF Ts at a showroom in San Francisco, and I wasn't impressed. They seemed a little dead to my ears. My research has identified Definitive Technology XTR and Monitor Audio Shadow as reasonable alternatives. Does anyone have any experience with either of these?

A friend recommended getting something from the Denon line (X2000? X3000?) which have integrated Airplay, since that's I how I broadcast music throughout the house already. Anyone have any experience with those AVRs? (Thank you for all your very thoughtful advice so far)

I just learned that a great 51" plasma 1080p is on sale today for $500. Samsung PN51F5300AFXZA I wonder if I should grab it while it's available -- or should I go larger? It's a small space, but I've heard you get a lot out of a 1080p at short range....

I think in-wall will be tough, given the narrow spacing of the studs in the wall. Although looking at KEF T (for the first time), they might fit.

The TV can be mounted on an articulated arm, if that helps. Speaker wire in the walls to the left and right of the TV and left and right of the couch (as much as possible given the doors). Nothing in the ceiling or baseboards.
