    Another Newbie Man Cave question

I've had a chance to listen to the KEF Ts at a showroom in San Francisco, and I wasn't impressed. They seemed a little dead to my ears. My research has identified Definitive Technology XTR and Monitor Audio Shadow as reasonable alternatives. Does anyone have any experience with either of these?

Thanks to everyone for the advice. I'm about to go out of town -- I will do more research in early September, make some decisions, and get back to you with how things turned out.

This looks like an awesome TV, maybe the best out there for 60". But is it worth the $1500 premium over the LG 60"? http://goo.gl/H9QXLa

A friend recommended getting something from the Denon line (X2000? X3000?) which have integrated Airplay, since that's I how I broadcast music throughout the house already. Anyone have any experience with those AVRs? (Thank you for all your very thoughtful advice so far)

HDTV running AppleTV, Roku, and Blu-Ray. Will probably send music over via the Apple TV as well. No console games, but I might play PC games via Airplay on the Apple TV.

The KEF T speakers look interesting -- were you recommending the 105, 205, or 305 packages? I'll try to find somewhere locally to listen to them. Are there others you'd suggest I compare them to? I am going to swing the TV out so it is parallel with the couch. The angle of the wall in the...

    Another Newbie Man Cave question

The question is less about optimal viewing size and more about whether the TV will totally dominate a small room. This isn't really a man cave, since my wife gets some say in the matter! Aside from the TV dimensions, did anyone have any advice on what specific equipment to pick up, and how...

    Another Newbie Man Cave question

The dimensions have been hard to determine until they put the drywall up today. It looks like the TV screen will be about 6'8" from someone sitting on the couch. My wife thinks anything larger than 51" is going to be too big, and I think I agree -- her exact quote: "Your internet friends will...

I just learned that a great 51" plasma 1080p is on sale today for $500. Samsung PN51F5300AFXZA I wonder if I should grab it while it's available -- or should I go larger? It's a small space, but I've heard you get a lot out of a 1080p at short range....

I think in-wall will be tough, given the narrow spacing of the studs in the wall. Although looking at KEF T (for the first time), they might fit.

It's a solid concrete foundation wall behind the drywall.

The TV can be mounted on an articulated arm, if that helps. Speaker wire in the walls to the left and right of the TV and left and right of the couch (as much as possible given the doors). Nothing in the ceiling or baseboards.

We're building out a new basement room that will serve as both my office and a media room. I've attached a rough plan here. The TV will be on the slanted wall, and there's a hollow cabinet space above it that will serve perfectly for a media rack. Before they put up the drywall, I've had...
