Also, as we saw on Star Trek: Picard, by this time-period, ships know how to access Borg transwarp-conduits, so this could've been another means by which DaiMon Nandi was able to travel to the Gamma Quadrant. (I also love the idea of Nandi being a pre-Rom Ferengi who slipped through the Barzan...
I'm guessing it probably has to do with the upcoming December-interval, which typically results in lower viewership-numbers (due to the holidays and people traveling, etc.) -- if they'd started the season earlier than they did, they'd probably have done it in a straight 10 weeks, there.
Another possibility for how all of those Alpha Quadrant species could be near Kazon-space if they were survivors (or descendants of survivors) from ships that were pulled there by the Caretaker. (That said, Medusans, as I recall from TOS, can fairly easily navigate beyond the boundaries of the...
This was an excellent start to the series. It’s well-made, and did a great job with the characters, having fun, but treating the situation and the relationships seriously too. Clever use of suspense and payoff with the shields in the escape-sequence. I do wonder how you can have a Kazon in the...
It's set in the year 2383 (the Romulan-supernova happens four years later, in 2387), and the U.S.S. Voyager returned home in 2378. Star Trek: Nemesis takes place in 2379, and Lower Decks opens in 2380, for comparison.

Only "2021" at the moment -- but since that's within just a few short months now, it shouldn't be much longer. Apparently we'll be getting a firm date on Star Trek Day next week, here:

So Robert Beltran revealed today that he’s returning to voice Chakotay on Prodigy:

Should be interesting. Wonder how he's gonna fit into the storyline?
Peter David doesn't seem to have been aware of the new show's use of the Brikar, and seems to think Prodigy is ripping off Space Cases: "Okay, I've read up on it now. A show about a group of alien kids who discover a ship in space and use it to go on adventures. Wow. I wish I'd come up with a...
Yup, he's playing a Tellarite named "Jankom Pog" -- they've redesigned the species just slightly for this particular show, but that's pretty much par for the course for Star Trek in new incarnations over the many decades.
Voice-cast officially announced:
Jason Mantzoukas playing a Tellarite? Talk about a perfect match. Here's hoping they occasionally let him go full dickhead-"Dennis Feinstein" with the role.
