Whatever the reason, I don't think "the masses" are going to be picking apart the quality of the video presentation, whether disc-based or streaming, so what's the point of trying to appeal to them? I doubt they care one way or the other.

I always find it ironic that filmmakers/studios are sometimes defended when a title like this comes out, scrubbed of grain and DNRed to death, as trying to "appeal to the masses." To me, it just seems like another case of the industry not understanding their market. The "masses" aren't buying 4K...
