how is that any different than today, the western has been replaced by the corporate movie, where there are acquisitions , backstabbing, and mergers, to make a buck.

So is this a lost art form, the problem isn't that there aren't great westerns out there, but Hollywood rarely makes them any more, and unless you have TCM, you have to look to find them any more. Its not like days past, before Oprah, when local stations would actually program the afternoon...

eric depending on if you want story or action, first have to agree Searchers, changes your whole view of John Wayne, if you are just looking for a primer, i can suggest Costner's Open Range, hell of a good ride, great performances from him, benning and duval. just wish Hollywood would see that...
