My repaired Anthem AVM20 v2.0 has finally arrived. After hooking it up, version 2.08 had been installed. I checked out all of the settings (Anthem had kindly maintained all of my original settings so no set up needed) and everything works perfectly :D . No clicks, no loss of sound on any of the...
Hi Marc, Michael,
as they say, an AVM 20 is not a matter of life and death, its much more important!!:D
Even though I've been using a loaner AVM2 from my dealer, I feel the same as you both did when you had to give up your 20. As good as the 2 is, its not in the same league as the 20...
Hi Marc,
I don't know whether it was the mail that you sent on my behalf, or the email that I sent to Nick this morning, but I had a response from Frank at Anthem today as follows:

Hi Andy
Thanks for your email and your patience
Great news, the unit has been repaired, repacked and...
Hi Marc,
the problem with mine was sound dropping out after the HW upgrade. I had an original 20. After trying all of the fixes mentioned by all in this thread (esp. Michael Mohrmann) I finally had to concede and send it back. Full description of the problem is in post #717 of this thread.
I...
Mike, you may want to look at the Netcommand setup as it appears to have configuration information in the menus for routing video and sound to/from the AV receiver. This is just a thought. I don't have any experience with Netcommand so I may be totally off track with this, Andy
Mike, Is there anything in the Netcommand set up that may stop the Digital Out from working? I'm sure that you've already checked this but after looking at the manual its about all I can think of other than a faulty jack, Andy
Hi Mike, In my experience OTA signals (at least in Dallas) don't always output as DD (2.0 or 5.1). Its quite common to have an OTA HD signal display on the Anthem as Prologic (or even stereo) for example. Not sure that this helps you in your search for a solution though? Andy
Hi Mike, Although I do have a similar arrangement to you (HDTV, Component switching and DD5.1) I'm using an optical cable into one of the TOS inputs. As my set top DTV box has optical only, I can't replicate the problem. I don't know if there is a possibility of an optical connection in your...
Miguel, Like you I can't find anything that talks about protection circuitry in the literature but equally, in all of the reviews I've read (and in my own personal experience) my ears will blow before the Servo15 will. I would suggest calling Paradigm support or your dealer if you're unsure...
Miguel, I can verify the statements about the Bass Peak settings for Servo 15. It should be off. I think my volume level on the test tones was about -4dB with the mains set to around 0db. This gives me a realistic bass level (ie floor and room shaking on AOTC). On the X-30 crossover, it is...
Well after discussing my AVM20 problems with the dealer and the Paradigm rep, it appears that the problems I'm encountering are unique to my unit. Therefore its on the way to Anthem for investigation. Meanwhile I've got a loaner AVM2 :-( for the next 3-4 weeks. Below is a description of the...
Michael, I've tried both the reset to factory defaults and the installation of 2.07 followed by 2.08a. I believe that it has reduced the random clicking noises that I've been getting, but (there's always a but!!) the loss of sound on all channels with different sources is still there. So I...
Hi Michael, I can't be sure that the 2.08a install overwrote the one from the dealer. Now that you've given me the link to 2.07, I'll be able to check it tonight and let you know, thanks Andy
Hi all, I've been following this thread with interest and Michael Mohrmann and I have exchanged notes over at AVS on the problems I'm having with the AVM 20 upgrade. Situation is as follows: AVM20 upgraded with both HW and SW (2.08a). Since then, I've been getting random clicking (not...
