The problem isn't the software or hardware, it's the format.
The whole concept of people having to repeatedly update their player's firmware is the maddening concept of tech-heads, against all rationality.
We want to put a disc in the player, hit the little triangle-pointing-to-the-right...
I really hope people will re-read this.
Because that's an excellent, magnanimous post from TT.
And I'm sure if everyone here trusted what TT have said there, then Kino/MisterLime simply wouldn't have been on the receiving end of any of the comments which have made him respond as he has.
It's...
My apologies, I've obviously missed that.
Links?
The fact that it's a forum shouldn't open the floodgates to some of the unfounded accusations laid at Kino.

Brandon, aye.
I think there have been what Don Logan would call 'insinnuendos' about Kino.
ML has come here thinking he'll keep us up to date and interact, perhaps more so than other companies, with the forums, but he's then been hit with accusations which imply Kino is little more than a...
Agreed.
Blu-ray Disc is proving to be a funny old format.
There was a period where it looked like things were drying up, and some of our favourite films would never surface.
Just give me an unadulterated scan of the best materials you have. I'll put up with a few flecks and specks.

MisterLime, please continue to post your news here, it is very much appreciated.I think it's great that both Kino and TT are so 'hands on' at these forums.Steve W
I think maybe you might read my post again.
I though the idea of Separate Tables ever getting released on Blu-ray Disc was a non-starter.
Marty is great, so I always expected we'd see it sooner or later. But my personal taste is for ST.

Whilst I get embroiled in many...ahem 'discussions', the main reason I come here is to learn about when great films are coming out on Blu-ray Disc.
Unlike probably everyone else, I'm more excited about Separate Tables than Marty - I thought this would be a non-starter when waiting for a HD...
I can't find the post from TT, but I'm pretty sure they said both labels had releases of which either side would be proud.
I'm just happy to see so many great catalogue titles coming out.
I think there are pros and cons to each company's way of doing things.
Steve W
I've not pre-ordered, but because of the possible problems with the quality and zooming.
If it's not (too) zoomed and the quality is great, I can alter my image to crop to 1.66:1 or 1.85:1.
The idea of not buying it when I can do this, just as some sort of protest, is anathema to me.
Steve W
Me too.
Anyone sitting around thinking we'll ever get a perfect release of everything is deluded. It is just never, ever going to happen.
Hope for the best, but accept that at least one or two of your favourites will never see HD and one or two that do will be sub-standard and never get the...
