Every “mystery box” story ends disappointingly. I remember enjoying Lost in its first season, but thinking there’s no way there’s going to be a payoff to any of this.
A scan, usually of a release print, that hasn't been cleaned up, so it will have all the dust and scratches that you'd expect to see in a second-run theatre.
Shout Factory is also releasing Dead Zone in July, and have said it will be from a new transfer.

When it comes to Paramount titles in particular, I'll only buy them on disc if I know they come from a new master - and even that's no guarantee of quality, as To Catch a Thief aptly demonstrates. Otherwise, I'll pick them up for $5 on iTunes.
