The fan votes for this year's oscars likely won by bots.

"At this year’s Oscars, Zack Snyder emerged with a pair of victories in the fan-voted categories. The filmmaker’s zombie thriller Army...
The same theater that is playing musicals this month has this lined up for May:
RETRO REPLAY: May Is For Mothers
Tuesdays, May 3 - 31 at Spectrum 8 Theatres!
May 3: PSYCHO (1960)
May 10: MILDRED PIERCE (1945)
May 17: ROSEMARY'S BABY (1968)
May 24: MOMMIE DEAREST (1981)
May 31: SERIAL MOM...
It was at my local Landmark owned theater this month they are showing classic musicals on Tuesdays. Last week was The Wizard Of Oz, last night Cabaret, next week Mamma Mia, and the following week Grease.
It looked and sounded excellent.
I just got back from seeing a screening of Cabaret. It was great seeing Liza much more healthy and vibrant than she was when she recently presented best picture.
On the Chris Rock / Will Smith situation I think that Smith should be suspended from the academy for 5 years.
As for Chris Rock I was reminded that he actually made a documentary about black women's hair and in that he interviewed women with Jada Smith's condition. I still don't know if he was...
I've been having audio dropouts several times during musical numbers. Of course we are probably watching from the same provider so I don't know if this was national or not. I also hated that COVID test bit as well.
For the Rachel Zegler story it sounds like something that Spielberg could have fixed in 5 minutes. The primary actors in best picture nominated films should all get invites.
In this case it was making up for Disney being stupid and not putting their best song up for nomination contention. Also it could actually pull in some viewers.
I would feel better about these changes if they put the names of all categories except for Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress into a hat and pulled 8 of them from it randomly for exclusion from that year's telecast. That way it doesn't seem like your...
Report: ABC threatened to cancel telecast if Oscars didn't cut 12 categories.

"Another governor of a branch that has lost a category from the live telecast, who wishes to remain nameless...
I saw all of the nominees for Animated Short today and I would rank them as:
“Robin Robin”
“The Windshield Wiper”
“Boxballet”
“Affairs of the Art”
“Bestia”
Robin Robin was the most conventional animated short and can currently be seen on Netflix. After the 2nd short screened (BoxBallet) there...
The problem with viewership is probably most tied with general audiences not seeing 90% of the nominated movies. I wouldn't be opposed with a condition of having 10 nominees being based on at least 3 of them being in the top 10 grossing films of the year. There are films in the top 10 grossing...
If you want to cut down the length of the program have the best original songs performances happen during commercials and then play the winning song only during the program. Post the other performances online after the ceremony. Keep all the awards televised.
I saw a show today with a movie pundit, a film editor and a working film / television actress. The Pundit didn't hate the idea, the editor and the actress both hated it. The actress in particular was upset about the hair/makeup people since she knows that they are usually the first on the set...
They should put ALL the categories in a hat and pull 8 of them from that hat for exclusion from the telecast. Then we hear the outrage when Best Picture Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Director aren't presented live.
I'll be seeing Flee tomorrow as it is playing at my local arthouse. I have to see a film who somehow managed to be nominated in Documentary Feature, Animated Feature, and International Feature.
In the Heights was probably hurt by West Side Story and tick, tick,... BOOM getting nominations. Lin-Manuel Miranda was covered by BOOM and Encanto.
DUNE probably got the slot people were hoping to fill with movies like The Dark Knight.
